Green Bay Copper Gold Project Expansion Update: Canada Focuses On Development

The latest raising provides funding for key Green Bay development activities. FireFly plans to combine the proceeds with its proposed SPP. The company expects this funding to support project implementation and technical advancement. Key spending areas include:

  • Underground development for drilling, ventilation and electrical infrastructure.
  • Surface early works supporting future project implementation.
  • Additional underground drilling across extensions and deeper mineralisation.
  • Regional drilling targeting discoveries across the wider Green Bay district.

These activities aim to strengthen the project’s resource base and development pathway. FireFly is also progressing technical studies for future production scenarios.

FireFly Metals Targets Resource Growth Through Expanded Drilling

Further drilling will support FireFly’s resource growth strategy across Green Bay. Underground drilling will test extensions beyond the existing mine area.

It will also examine parallel lodes and deeper mineralisation. Geophysical targets will receive additional attention during exploration. Regional drilling will target prospective areas across the broader district.

The company also plans a definitive feasibility study for a 1.8 million tonnes per annum base-case development. A pre-feasibility study will examine an alternative 4.6 million tonnes per annum operation. These studies will help assess future development options.

Share Purchase Plan Adds Further Funding Capacity

Eligible shareholders in Australia and New Zealand can participate in the proposed SPP. The non-underwritten plan targets up to another A$10 million. Investors can subscribe for up to A$30,000 of new shares. The offer price remains A$1.78 per share. Key SPP dates and terms include:

  • Opening date: September 4.
  • Closing date: September 23.
  • Maximum subscription: A$30,000 per eligible shareholder.
  • New SPP shares expected to begin trading: October 1.

The SPP provides existing shareholders with further participation in FireFly’s funding programme. It also adds capital for the company’s broader development strategy.

Green Bay Development Progress Supports Future Copper Production

Green Bay remains FireFly’s flagship copper-gold asset in Canada. The project is advancing following a preliminary economic assessment.

That study outlined potential for a high-grade, low-cost, long-life mining operation. FireFly has identified a pathway towards annual copper production of 100,000 tonnes. The project currently contains 60.2 million tonnes of Measured and Indicated resources.

These resources grade 2.43% copper equivalent. They contain 1.464 million tonnes of contained copper equivalent. Inferred resources total 23.5 million tonnes. They grade 2.51% copper equivalent and contain 592,000 tonnes.

What The FireFly Metals Green Bay Update Means

The funding gives FireFly greater financial capacity as Green Bay advances. The company can now progress development, exploration and technical work simultaneously.

The project’s existing resource base provides significant scale for future studies. Its planned drilling could also identify additional mineralisation across the district. The upcoming studies will examine different development capacities.

FireFly’s immediate focus remains project implementation and resource growth. The broader objective is to move Green Bay towards development. This strategy could strengthen the project’s long-term copper and gold production potential. For more such insights, visit Mining Herald.
